Texas A&M Corpus Christi professor Dr. Yajuan Lin stunned students by describing her adventures in the polar regions of the world. Students learned about greedy birds, puking penguins, the Drake’s Passage, and all things plankton. Dr. Lin is a seagoing biological oceanographer specializing in carbon and energy fluxes. Dr. Lin held students interest by crisscrossing between high interest penguin stories and intricate details on carbons role in plankton. An intense competition occurred when students tried to guess the latest percentage of carbon in the atmosphere.
