Ocean acidification is determined by several measurements with the most important factor being pH. Factors such as weather and water quality alter the amount of carbon that water can absorb. Tools ranging from handheld devices to ship mounted probes. Ocean acidification is most pronounced around coastal areas. Students can use hand held devices to quickly determine the overall health of a small water body.
